On 9 July, Evan Call and Michelle Deppisch will present scientific evidence and clinical practice and guidelines that underpin pressure injury prevention with a particular focus on safely turning and repositioning patients as a preventive measure.
Evan Call will present scientific evidence covering envelopment, immersion and the importance of microclimate and its management. Michelle will share in detail the clinical importance of these areas as part of presenting NPIAP guidelines on pressure injury prevention.

Evan Call is a Medical Device Test and Development Specialist and Research Scientist with experience in microclimate measurement and control, hospital bed safety and performance testing, human subject studies, support surface standards development, wheelchair cushion standards, medical device development, medical device testing and pharmaceutical testing and teaching at the University level. His focus has been on pressure injury prevention and safety research for the past 18 years. He works on Test Standards for ISO, RESNA, and NPIAP.
Michelle Deppisch, PT, CWS, FACCWS
Michelle Deppisch is a Physical Therapist and Certified Wound Specialist with 37 years of experience. She is currently serving as the Clinical Evidence Manager for the US wound care division at Molnlycke Healthcare. In the past she served on the NPIAP Board of Directors, Chairing the Research Committee and serving on the Support Surface Standards Initiative (S3I) committee. Michelle is now a Panel Representative for Molnlycke to the NPIAP Board.
