Mölnlycke at IFSO 2018 Dubai
From 26-29 September 2018, Mölnlycke was present at the 23rd World Congress of the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (IFSO). For the first time ever, the congress was held in the Middle East, at the World Trade Center in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The IFSO congress is one of the most important scientific events for bariatric and metabolic surgeons all over the world. About 2600 registered attendees joined the meeting including global key opinion leaders – including Dr. Robert Rutledge, the inventor of the Mini bypass; a sizeable number of European reference surgeons, ERAS, among others.

Products on display at our booth
‘This was the first time we as Mölnlycke had the opportunity to present our complete range of laparoscopic surgical solutions to such a large audience of bariatric surgeons,’ said commercial product manager Amr Abdalhamid.
We launched 9 post-graduate courses on different bariatric topics using our laparoscopic portfolio, staff clothing and Biogel® gloves. The sleek, modern booth provided the ideal backdrop for bariatric laparoscopic procedure trays as well as BARRIER® and Biogel. Above all, the booth featured a thoroughly hands-on experience through the simulation centre which ran throughout the entire congress, overall providing valuable learning avenues for juniors and consultants to adopt our laparoscopic offering. All in all, this event highlighted how Mölnlycke works to own the outcome and truly listens to our customers, and prove it every single day – congress or not.
